Diet and Lifestyle

A combination of lifestyle and exercise to try and aid weight loss from an NHS Clinical Pharmacist. Personalised plans to suit individual needs, and take into account any health needs that may impact this

Orlistat

Orlistat is a potent, specific and long-acting medication that reduces the absorption of dietary fat. It exerts its therapeutic activity in the stomach and small intestine by inhibiting an enzyme that helps the body to digest fat. The inactivated enzyme is therefore unavailable to break down dietary fat into a form that the body would absorb, and is therefore ultimately excreted.

Work by reducing food intake

Ozempic and Weygovy (Semaglutide) reduces body weight and body fat mass through lowered energy intake, involving an overall reduced appetite. In addition, semaglutide reduces the preference for high fat foods.

Mounjaro (Tirzapeptide) reduces energy intake and appetite by increasing feelings of satiety (fullness), decreasing feelings of hunger, and decreasing food cravings.
